Little Red Hen Studio is the website for Barbara Coddington. Like the Little Red Hen of the old fable, I tend to do a variety of things, drawing on years of experience in magazine journalism and my lifelong love/study of art (aka being a jack of all trades.)
Not all trades, though. Works on paper are what I enjoy best, like watercolors and scratchy pen and ink, but wait, there’s more: printmaking, book arts and assemblages, and writing, stitched together with a bit of knitting and embroidery. Lately I’m playing with low-fi film and digital photography, life drawing, and urban sketching. I’m not sure anything beats the simple pleasure of a beautiful blank page and a soft pencil sharpened just so, but I’m happy to try to find something that does.
